donateThank you for your love for Nigeria, and financial help towards stopping Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida from wreaking more havoc on Nigerians.

The unrepentant dictator, Ibrahim Babangida, has come out of his incubator with a determination to contest the 2007 presidential election. As we warned Nigerians on Page 72 of The Guardian on August 17, 2006, the Evil Genius will not give up until we stop him.

It is our hope that all well-meaning Nigerians will consider Babangida the national threat that he is. We need help to disable this threat. How can you help? Look at the various campaign options we have outlined below and act:

arrow Sponsor a particular campaign option, such as billboard or a type of newspaper advertisement.
arrow Form a group with other people and sponsor a campaign option.

Special Message from AgainstBabangida.com

A year ago, we launched Againstbabangida.com as a voluntary civic effort to raise awareness about the dangers posed to Nigeria’s democracy by the insatiable thirst of retired military officers for power. We saw in General Ibrahim Babangida’s desire to run for the presidency a dangerous trend that must be curtailed. Babangida became a symbol for a degenerative disease with Nigeria’s nascent democracy.

At that time, most people were not even sure the former dictator was serious about coming back to power. Well, that cloud has passed, as IBB has presented himself as a presidential candidate for the 2007 elections on the platform of the PDP.

IBB’s leadership exemplifies grand corruption, profligacy, nepotism, and disrespect for human rights. Right-thinking Nigerians cannot sit down and watch this man return to power. Nothing can be more disastrous.

IBB is very powerful and almost unstoppable. Yet, Babangida must be resisted; but how? We must form a wall of resistance that Babangida cannot penetrate. This is the time to raise our voices and shout him down. We can do this by reminding Nigerians and the world who IBB truly is, and trust that if the story is told convincingly, people will be led to make the right decisions.

We have started media campaign aimed at telling the story of Babangida, and are requesting financial support through donations to get the message across.

We are not asking for anthing that is not already the norm in civilized societies. Civic organizations like ours are the engines that drive public pressure against dangers to democratic progress in many developed nations.

Babangida can win, but so can ordinary Nigerians. But we can't win if we don't do something. Over the next few months, Babangida will be targeting impoverished Nigerians with false messages of hope. If well repeated, propanganda will become truth.  Please contribute today to help us fight back at.

We don't have to tell you how much destruction Babangida can unleash upon Nigeria. Here is a great opportunity to fight for better future and build virile democracy that the powerful military elite can no longer hijack.

This is a fight we can win. Babangida and his paid followers know what is at stake, with petro-dollar at an historic high. They cannot wait to lay their dirty hands on your money once again. They will do everything they can to steal power. But make no mistake, they know most of us will only talk and do nothing to fight back.  Do we want Babangida to come back, or do we want to fight back? Againstbabangida.com will need the resources to run an aggressive campaign in the media.

Your donation of at least $50 (or whatever you can give) will help keep the momentum against IBB strong.

Let's give Babangida a scare. Let's run him out of town!

Donate to the AgainstBabangida Media Campaign Fund.

Thank you for your help. Thank you for your anticipated continued support of democracy in Nigeria.
